The Russia-Korea Tourism Meeting was held in Moscow, Russia, on the 17th of March, 2008.
The Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation represented by Mr. Anatoliy Yarochkin, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism and The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea represented by Mr. Dae Kwan Kim, Director General of the Planning and Development Commission for the Tourism and Leisure City (hereinafter referred to as "the Sides");
recognizing necessities to promote tourism exchange between the two countries have reached the following arrangements:
1. Set up of the Russia-Korea Tourism Conference and Tourism Working Group
- To promote tourism exchange between Russia and Korea, the Sides will hold the Russia-Korea Tourism Conference every year, alternately in Russia and Korea.
- The Sides will also establish a Tourism Working Group composed of representatives from World Without Borders from Russian Side and Korea Tourism Organization, Korea Tourism Association and Korea Association of Travel Agents from Korean Side to facilitate the implementation of decisions adopted during the Meeting and to resolve current issues in the field of tourism for mutual cooperation.
2. Cooperation to Boost Bilateral Tourist Exchange
- The Sides will strengthen cooperation in order to stimulate the development of tourism products and to enhance the quality of service and safety to tourists in all points during their stay.
- The Sides will promote the exchange of statistics and other information in the field of tourism.
- The Sides will encourage tour operators to develop diverse tourist routes for tourists of both countries.
3. Efforts to Simplify the Formalities for Bilateral Tourist Exchange
- The Sides will make efforts to simplify the formalities related to the tourist exchange between the two countries and strengthen bilateral cooperation.
4. Others
- The Sides will maintain a close communication network and share related information in preparation of emergencies such as natural disasters, terrorism, and so on for assuring the security of tourists in the two countries.
